Launched in 2024, Weavers of Tomorrow is the world's first innovation program dedicated to launching a groundbreaking Tech entrepreneurial track for the weaving industry.

Program Overview
Launched in 2024, Weavers of Tomorrow is an industry-led skills and talent development program designed to prepare a new generation of professionals for the manufacturing and industrial sector, with a specific focus on the textiles and carpets industry. The program runs until January 2026 and is implemented in partnership with Oriental Weavers, the world’s leading manufacturer of woven carpets. The program responds to the growing need for future-ready skills, bridging the gap between education, technical capabilities, and real industry requirements. Weavers of Tomorrow equips participants with practical knowledge, hands-on exposure, and industry-aligned competencies that enhance employability and long-term career pathways within the manufacturing sector.
Program Reach & Progress
Since its launch, the program has completed two cohorts, supporting participants through structured learning and engagement cycles that emphasize technical skills, professionalism, and industry integration. The multi-year design allows for iterative learning, scaling impact, and sustained collaboration between the private sector and emerging talent.
Impact & Outcomes
Through Weavers of Tomorrow, participants gain industry-relevant technical and operational skills, direct exposure to real-world manufacturing processes, and enhanced readiness for employment and long-term career growth. They also develop a deeper understanding of the evolving needs and standards of the textiles and manufacturing sector. At a broader level, the program contributes to strengthening the manufacturing talent pipeline, supporting private-sector–driven workforce development, and promoting sustainable collaboration between industry and education. Overall, Weavers of Tomorrow reflects Gemini Africa’s commitment to building strong industry alliances, advancing future-ready skills, and creating meaningful linkages between talent, innovation, and the private sector.
