Led by Gemini Africa in partnership with the British Council, the Creative Maker Programme strengthens Egypt’s creative economy by bridging artistic expression with entrepreneurship. Since its inception, it has supported creatives, startups, and MSMEs in building viable business models, enhancing market readiness, and contributing to inclusive growth; enabling participants to turn creative potential into sustainable enterprises. In Creative Maker III, the programme adopts a more focused, market-driven, and experiential approach, moving beyond training into application. It supports participants in refining their artistic and entrepreneurial skills while connecting them with investors, producers, and key industry stakeholders, creating real pathways to market opportunities. Through this approach, Creative Maker III reinforces a shared commitment to strengthening Egypt’s creative ecosystem and unlocking the full economic potential of its creative talents.

Previous Rounds

Launched in 2024, Creative Maker I delivered a structured, multi-phase journey running from April to November 2024, supporting creatives to transform ideas into viable, market-ready projects.

Program Scope & Reach The program supported 21 creatives across seven governorates—Cairo, Damietta, Luxor, Aswan, Ismailia, Minya, and Fayoum. Female participation reached 11 participants, with strong youth and refugee inclusion.

Program Structure & Support

Participants progressed through a three-phase support journey:

Bootcamp: A three-day intensive bootcamp (June 2024) covering entrepreneurship, business modelling, finance, marketing, and project development Bootstrap Phase: Tailored workshops and one-to-one support for 10 creatives, concluding with a final exhibition

Business Development Support:

Customized BDS for 4 selected startups, including needs assessments and tailored action plans

Program Overview

Creative Maker is a capacity-building program supporting creative artists and startups in transitioning into professional, market-ready careers within the creative economy. Implemented in partnership with the British Council, the program equips creatives with entrepreneurial and business skills to compete locally and globally.

Program Scope & Structure

Creative Maker is a multi-phase, nationwide capacity-building program supporting creative artists and startups across Egypt. It follows a structured journey combining bootcamps, workshops, mentorship, and customized Business Development Services (BDS) to help participants strengthen business models, refine market strategies, and enhance growth readiness. Selected startups receive advanced tailored support, including needs assessments and action plans, ensuring their transition into sustainable, market-ready creative ventures.

Impact & Outcomes

Creative Maker has strengthened the professional and entrepreneurial capacities of creative artists and startups across Egypt, enabling them to transform creative ideas into structured, market-ready ventures. Participants enhanced their business models, financial planning, branding, and market positioning, while increasing confidence and readiness for growth.

At a broader level, the program contributes to building a more inclusive and resilient creative economy ecosystem by supporting youth, women, and underserved creatives, fostering sustainable livelihoods, and reinforcing the link between creative talent and viable business development.

Who Can Apply?

  • ● Creative artists, filmmakers, entrepreneurs, and startups working across art, media, design, and technology.
  • ● Based in Cairo or Upper Egypt (Minya, Assiut, Sohag, Qena, Luxor, Aswan).
  • ● Aged 20–50 years old.
  • ● Working within sectors such as visual arts, innovative solutions for filmmaking (CinemaTech), different types of arts, animation, creative gaming, artistic and creative spaces, etc.
  • ● Seeking to build sustainable creative businesses with financial and social impact.
