Gemini CinemaTech Hub
Launched in 2024 in Hurghada, the Gemini CinemaTech Hub is Egypt's first creative economy hub blending cinema, technology, and entrepreneurship.

Program Overview
Launched in 2024, the Gemini CinemaTech Hub is a multi-year initiative running through 2026 and implemented in partnership with USAID’s Business Egypt Program. Based in Luxor, the hub serves as a dedicated Business Development Services (BDS) center supporting creative industries and underserved MSMEs across Upper Egypt, addressing long-standing gaps in business, technical, and artistic support. The program responds to structural challenges faced by creative enterprises outside Cairo, where access to professional business services, technical facilities, and artistic expertise is often limited or unaffordable. Through the establishment of a localized hub, Gemini Africa seeks to enhance the competitiveness, sustainability, and growth potential of creative businesses in the region.
The Gemini CinemaTech Hub operates through a tailored, demand-driven approach that integrates business development, technical assistance, and outreach within a single, cohesive support model. Designed to meet enterprises where they are—both geographically and developmentally—the hub aligns its services with real market needs, ensuring that creative businesses receive relevant, practical, and scalable support.
Hub Components
The Gemini CinemaTech Hub is structured around three complementary components that work together to deliver integrated support to creative enterprises across Upper Egypt. At its core, the Gemini Business Clinic serves as the primary entry point for clients, focusing on identifying business gaps and growth challenges, designing customized assistance packages, delivering targeted business development services, and strengthening operational, financial, and market readiness. Support is tailored to the specific needs of each enterprise, enabling MSMEs to grow sustainably and move toward long-term economic resilience.
Complementing this, the Gemini CinemaTech Center functions as the technical and artistic arm of the hub, supporting creative enterprises by identifying artistic and technical production needs, offering specialized consultations, and providing access to a fully equipped professional studio. By offering services that are often concentrated in Cairo, cost-prohibitive, or disconnected from professional standards, the center helps level the playing field for creatives based in Upper Egypt.
To further expand its reach beyond Luxor, the Mobile Unit ensures on-the-ground engagement across Upper Egypt by participating in festivals, artistic events, and community activations. It conducts preliminary needs assessments, provides on-the-spot consultations and basic BDS services, and delivers CinemaTech demonstrations and activations. Together, these three components create a comprehensive, accessible, and regionally responsive support system for the creative industries ecosystem.
Impact & Outcomes
Through the Gemini CinemaTech Hub, creative enterprises and MSMEs gain improved access to integrated business and technical support services, enhancing both their artistic quality and production readiness. The hub strengthens their market positioning and long-term sustainability while increasing visibility within local, national, and international creative ecosystems. At a systemic level, the initiative contributes to decentralizing creative economy infrastructure beyond Cairo, strengthening the creative industries ecosystem in Upper Egypt, supporting job creation and sustainable livelihoods, and promoting innovation and commercially viable cultural production. The Gemini CinemaTech Hub reflects Gemini Africa’s commitment to localized Business Development Services (BDS) models, creative economy advancement, and inclusive economic growth in underserved regions.
