Arts and Cultural Management Program
An immersive arts and cultural management program designed to equip aspiring cultural leaders.

Program Overview
Implemented in 2022, the Arts and Cultural Management Program is a pilot capacity-building initiative developed in partnership with EUNIC and the European Union. The program was designed to strengthen the professional and business skills of arts and culture managers, enabling them to navigate the rapidly evolving creative and cultural landscape in Egypt. The initiative focused on empowering creative professionals in Cairo by equipping them with the tools, knowledge, and mindset needed to manage artistic projects sustainably. By combining creative talent with sound business practices, the program aimed to enhance the long-term viability and impact of cultural initiatives.
Program Objectives & Activities
The Arts and Cultural Management Program was structured to build the management, organizational, and business skills of arts and culture managers, supporting creative professionals in adapting to Egypt’s rapidly evolving cultural landscape. It encouraged the development of artist-led initiatives grounded in sustainability and social impact, while fostering a strong connection between creative practice and entrepreneurial thinking. In parallel, the program aimed to extend its reach beyond Cairo by promoting artistic initiatives that benefit youth in Upper Egypt, creating opportunities for self-expression, talent discovery, and access to creative pathways.
Through this comprehensive capacity-building journey, participants strengthened their expertise in arts and cultural management and gained practical insights into project planning, sustainability strategies, and audience engagement. They also developed initiatives designed to expand access to arts and culture for young people, contributing to the creation of new artistic opportunities and platforms within underserved communities.
Outcomes & Impact
The Arts and Cultural Management Program contributed to professionalizing the role of arts and culture managers within Egypt’s creative ecosystem, while strengthening their capacity to lead sustainable cultural initiatives. It supported greater youth engagement in the arts—particularly in Upper Egypt—by promoting inclusive cultural development and expanding opportunities for creative expression. At a broader level, the program reinforced the resilience and growth of Egypt’s creative industries ecosystem. Overall, the initiative reflects Gemini Africa’s commitment to advancing the creative economy, building sustainable cultural infrastructure, and expanding equitable access to artistic opportunities across regions.
