As part of its ongoing commitment to empowering young entrepreneurs and fostering innovation, Gemini Africa participated in the Young Champion Challenge Summer Camp, held under the EU–Egypt Youth Innovation Summit, with an interactive masterclass focused on transforming innovative ideas into compelling startup pitches. Held at the American University in Cairo’s Tahrir Campus, the session was delivered by Mohamed Osman, Senior Programs and Digital Engagement Officer at Gemini Africa, bringing together 60 young innovators aged 16 to 24, representing 17 teams developing solutions in agri-tech, climate resilience, coastal management, and technology.

Titled “Advanced Pitch Craft,” the masterclass equipped participants with practical tools to communicate their ideas effectively, demonstrate their potential impact, and confidently present their solutions to investors and judging panels. Through interactive exercises, live pitching challenges, and peer feedback, participants explored the essential elements of a successful pitch, from clearly defining a problem and validating a solution to delivering a compelling presentation and responding to challenging questions. The session concluded with a practical assignment, the “Pitch Pack,” designed to help teams refine their presentations ahead of the final competition.

Of the 17 participating teams, only 10 will advance to present their solutions before a VIP jury and audience at the EU–Egypt Youth Innovation Summit on 29 October, taking place during the 9th Cairo Water Week. Organised by Wavemakers United and hosted by the AUC Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, the initiative provides a platform for young innovators to develop entrepreneurial skills and address pressing environmental and technological challenges.

Through initiatives such as this, Gemini Africa continues to support the next generation of entrepreneurs, bridging the gap between innovative ideas and real-world opportunities while encouraging youth-led solutions to sustainable development challenges.
