Gemini Africa and WPDI Renew Partnership to Empower Youth and Build Sustainable Livelihoods in South Sudan

Gemini Africa is proud to announce the renewal of its strategic partnership with the Whitaker Peace & Development Initiative (WPDI), reinforcing a shared commitment to empowering young people and women across South Sudan through entrepreneurship, innovation, peacebuilding, and sustainable livelihoods. The renewed collaboration will continue through June 2027, building on the success and impact of the program's first year.

The partnership combines WPDI's expertise in community engagement and peacebuilding with Gemini Africa's extensive experience in entrepreneurship development, startup incubation, and business acceleration. Together, the two organizations are creating opportunities for young people to build resilient businesses, strengthen their communities, and contribute to long-term economic development.

Expanding Impact Across South Sudan

The next phase of the program will deliver a comprehensive package of entrepreneurship, digital skills, and conflict resolution initiatives designed to strengthen both economic resilience and social cohesion. The program will:

  • -Reach 600 community members through community dialogue sessions.
  • -Train 120 community leaders in Conflict Resolution Education (CRE).
  • -Build the capacities of 510 young people, including:
  • -225 youth in Conflict Resolution Education.
  • -225 youth in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
  • -60 aspiring entrepreneurs in business management and entrepreneurship.
  • -Support Business Plan Competitions, with 15 new businesses receiving startup support.
  • -Continue mentoring the 18 businesses launched during the first phase of the partnership.
