Egyptian Food Bank and Gemini Africa Sign Strategic Partnership to Launch “Art for Humanity”

The Egyptian Food Bank and Gemini Africa officially signed a strategic partnership agreement to launch “Art for Humanity,” a national photography and visual storytelling initiative designed to use art, photography, and storytelling as tools for social impact and community engagement. The signing ceremony marked the beginning of a collaboration that brings together development work and the creative sector to amplify authentic human stories around food, dignity, resilience, and solidarity across Egypt.

Through a two-track photography platform, the initiative will engage both amateur participants from local communities and emerging professional photographers, giving them the opportunity to document and share stories that reflect everyday acts of kindness, perseverance, and togetherness. Implemented by Gemini Africa in partnership with the Egyptian Food Bank, the initiative aims to create meaningful advocacy content while empowering participants to use photography as a voice for expression and social dialogue.

The program also introduces a strong community storytelling component through the Photovoice methodology, enabling participants from different governorates to capture their lived realities and communities through photography and reflective storytelling. The partnership reflects a shared vision between both organizations: that impact is not only created through programs and services, but also through stories that build empathy, awareness, and human connection.

At its core, the campaign invites Egyptians from all walks of life to capture the meaning of “humanity” through their own lenses and personal stories — transforming photography into a tool for empathy, connection, and social reflection. By encouraging participants to document authentic moments of compassion, resilience, generosity, and community spirit, the initiative creates a national platform for visual storytelling that celebrates the human experience in Egypt in a way that has not been done before at this scale.

The initiative is expected to culminate in exhibitions, advocacy showcases, and public storytelling experiences that celebrate humanity through art and community engagement.
