On 28 October, Omar Aboeleish, Senior Program Officer & Business Information Systems at Gemini Africa, delivered an interactive session titled “AI-Powered Innovation,” aimed at introducing school and university students from diverse academic backgrounds to the transformative potential of artificial intelligence. Designed as an engaging, Q&A-driven mentorship session, the discussion encouraged students to ask questions, challenge common misconceptions about AI, and explore how emerging technologies can support their academic, professional, and entrepreneurial ambitions. Rather than focusing solely on the technical aspects of artificial intelligence, Omar highlighted how AI can serve as a powerful tool for enhancing human creativity, strengthening problem-solving capabilities, and developing innovative solutions to real-world challenges.

A central theme of the session was empowering young people to move beyond being passive consumers of AI technology and become active creators and innovators, capable of using these tools responsibly and effectively. Through initiatives such as this, Gemini Africa continues to promote digital literacy, innovation, and youth empowerment, equipping the next generation with the knowledge and mindset needed to navigate an increasingly AI-driven world.

Drawing on his hands-on experience with AI-powered tools, Omar also shared insights into how artificial intelligence can be used to create short films, develop digital content, and bring creative ideas to life. His experience in AI-assisted filmmaking and content creation provided students with practical examples of how emerging technologies are transforming creative industries, making storytelling and content production more accessible to young innovators.
